A Cuban Sunrise

Posted by: Red Rock Designs

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cuba, and I saw the most beautiful sight.  The sunrise.

The air was quiet while everyone slept.  The sky was painted with reds, yellows and oranges, streaked across the horizon.  The sea looked like an infinity pool, it seemed to just end and steeply fall.  There was a flicker of light where the ocean meets the sky and then that small flicker opened up to show a slit of fire.

And there it was.  The great ball of fire rising.  Gliding, so smoothly, so serenely.  A feeling of peace washed over me and I believed in that short moment that if I listened closely, really closely, I might hear angels singing in the slight breeze.  It was an amazing natural beauty to witness from across the ocean, with no obstructions, no noise, no distractions.  Just me and the Sun.  And sharing that moment with my sister.

Enjoy my photos.

Thanks for your beautiful pictures. We also are just back from Cuba, staying at Breezes Jibacoa, half way between Varadero and Havana. A great adults only four star resort. Cuba is truly beautiful, both its geography, people, and wonderful artistry. The new crafters market down by the harbour in Havana is a wonderful place for local crafts. Live Edged Woodcraft

It was my first trip to Cuba, and I'll definitely go back again! Especially to check out Havana.
We stayed near Cayo Coco.
