My Valentine's Fantasy

Posted by: PetiteTuques

After 8 years of marriage, Valentine’s Day has become more of a challenge.
Before kids, it was easy to take the whole day off and go do something fun, eat at a favourite restaurant, watch a movie. It's actually only in the past two years, that I've taken the time to do something meaningful for my husband. It's not all about me, right?

My husband is a typical man. He likes electronics and cars and more recently, photography. We bought this semi pro camera for a combined Christmas/Birthday present, (which my youngest son broke), but we got a replacement, and he started to take these great pictures. Here is a picture of our local beach that he took.

That was just a trial run! He also likes to tell me that we need an extra big external flash, so that we can take even more awesome photos. So my idea for this Valentine’s Day is to get the flash that he desires. Let’s be honest, if I get him a love card or chocolate, the one thing he’ll remember is that I got him the flash.

I’m the opposite. What a good Valentine’s Day for me is a day without the kids.  I’d like to watch a movie and eat at East Side Marios. I love spaghetti. What I remember from last year is that I got a half day pass to a Spa. That’s the best present I have ever received.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what we bought each other, or the activities we did or didn’t do. Nothing says more than "I Love You" than a cuddle and a favorite drink, after the kids have gone to bed.

It's a very nice, relaxing picture - sound like just the kind of mood you need for Valentine's!
