More than one Colour Parachute
|
Have you ever come across the question, "what colour is your parachute?". I think we all have been asked this question in one way or another at some point in our lives and it's not always so easy to answer. I say, why should we just have one colour in our parachute? It's a lot more fun to have more colours! Gone are the days when people chose a career and stuck with it for the rest of their lives. Today, we are always changing and growing, and embracing all kind of possibilities. And I find this applies especially to modern women.
Take Bibi from Red Rock Designs, for example (above). Even though she works full time as an insurance professional, she still finds time for a second job, which brings her passion, as a jewellery designer. Red Rock Designs is her place of endless creativity and fabulous handcrafted accessories. She specializes in chainmaille jewellery, beaded jewellery, beaded keychains, beaded lanyards and more. All her pieces are proudly made in Canada and her aim is to satisfy every woman's style.
Bibi is a professional in both her jobs. She didn't just start making jewellery in her spare time while going to her insurance job every day. She actually enrolled in a jewellery making leisure course at a community college, where she learned the basics of jewellery making, and she opened up an online store at icraftgifts.com/red-rock-designs. This proves that if someone really wants to have "more colours" in their lives, with a little hard work, it is all possible.
And, it really is hard work at times. Take her lace stitched bracelet, for example. It's hand-stitched in a lace pattern with Japanese Delica beads and it is very labour intensive; however, the result is so rewarding that it makes her proud of her designs. This lace stitched bracelet is her one of a kind piece that gets lots of compliments from people all around. It is designs like this that bring her reassurance that her hard work is well worth it.
So whether you want to be a jewellery designer or anything else you fancy, but still enjoy your day job or need it to support yourself, know that it is possible to have more colours in your parachute.
If you pour your heart and soul into your passion, it will always be rewarding.
