10 New Year Craft Ideas

Posted by: Felicia

In just a few short days we will be celebrating a New Year!  While we generally hang out around our home to ring it in, I do like to have a few fun crafts as well as make the house look festive.  I received an old window frame for Christmas that I can hardly wait to use to re-decoracte our mantel.  Some of these craft ideas will work perfectly with my gorgeous new/old piece.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

Free Printables

These printables will bring any family gathering to life!  Use the banner to hang over your mantel, bay windows, above your couch or even over a bathroom mirror to make things a little more festive.  The Bingo game can help keep even the sleepiest of party goers awake all night.

Noise Makers

These are fun for young and old alike.  We made the noise makers out of plates 3 years ago had so much fun with them.  We were able to re-purpose a few things around the house and create fun memories.  Besides, what child doesn't love to make a little noise?!  The party blowers are both elegant and functional.  I could see these easily becoming the center piece of a food table.

Decorations

Who has left over wrapping paper and glitter?  I know we have plenty of it!  These two crafts make use of your leftover Christmas materials while adding some sparkle to your home and get together.  I especially love the bottom streamer idea because it could easily be used for many other parties depending upon the type of wrapping paper you use.  Why not save it and use it again for an elegant birthday or anniversary party?

Party Favors

It would not be New Year's without a few party favors even if you are staying home.  The waffle cone turned party hat or horn blower idea will definitely be a fan favorite at our house.  The time capsule idea will make great use of all of the mason jars I've collected over this year with hopes of putting them to good use.  What a lovely idea to give out to close friends and family as well.

How are you celebrating the New Year?  I would love to hear about any craft ideas you have or have tried in the past.

Excellent ideas...I especially like the mason jar time capsule....which can also be used for birthdays, anniversaries and milestones as well.
