How about starting up a Buying and Selling thread. Why? A few reasons - it's fun to see what others are listing and you get to know the people you're buying from. It allows you to experience the buying and selling experience on iCraft for yourself. Do you know what the check out process is like? And finally if you sell items on/from the list you will likely receive feedback from the list purchaser. People are more confident in buying from someone with feedback. So Who's In? We'll start with a list of 10 people. First come first serve basis. It would be great that if you want on the list that you'll also agree to purchasing something to keep the list moving, once you've been bought off. Add your name below and let's get the buying and selling started! (BTW - This is part of the bootcamp:) Please read the following simple rules: 1. Yay Ensorcelled Minds! Thanks for playing. When I had my first enquiry I made a purchase just so I could help walk the buyer through the buying process. Good experience!
Since we are still in the process of gathering players I've added Carvel back in to continue to grow the list.

Just let us know you're interested and you'll be added to the list. Then people bascially buy you off the list:) And then they are on the list to be bought off. A great way to get sales, experience the selling process from a buyer perspective and get feedback!

I got my soaps from Carvel today! I could smell them as I opened the box! This is a great way for shops to get exposure. I took advantage of the combined shipping (and to see how it works) and I will keep one soap and use the other as part of a give-away at a scrapping event. That way, her card can go on to another potential purchaser!

Hey I just had an idea... If any of you are doing giveaways on your blog I am willing to put up a gift certificate for some promotion! I'm not sure what would work for you a gift certificate or a predetermined product. Let me know. ... Oh yes and the other stipulation is you have to teach me how to do the giveaway thing with linkbacks and other stuff that they do on these giveaways Ohhhhhh I can see some real crosspromotional opportunities coming up! On some pillows my cost is almost nothing as the fabrics are remainders from some of my other jobs... just time. So I just leave a heap of scraps on my work table every night and sometime in the night the pillow fairies arrive and do their thing and voila' ... in the morning I have promotional pillows Christine |

I vote start over! I would like to see a "Holiday 2010 Buy'N'Sell party thread - maybe starting in September?
(I suppose we could start a "Fall" one now, but I don't imagine there will be huge interest over the summer months (speaking from a Northern Hemisphere perspective).)
If we do start over, do you think we should pick all the people on the ending list of the thread before to start the new thread? Or should we get all new sign ups?
I plan on buying from you, PetiteTuques (I almost entered your give away but then I decided I wanted to do it through iCraft). I'm planning a brimmed hat for my nephew but he will be about 8 months in winter, so I'm waiting until Fall to measure his head!
I think the real problem here is lack of forum traffic, although it's hard to tell. Do we have a lot of lurkers? Or is there really no traffic? Are the categories hard to choose from? I don't know - but that is a WHOLE OTHER topic!

Yes, the lack of participation in forum is puzzling.  I know we don't initiate many conversations here, and maybe that's the problem. We just thought that this should be a place for like-minded people, artists and crafters, to connect. We are mostly concentrating on providing support, adding tools and monitoring conversations for spam etc. So we are still here, but more transparent. We'd like to hear what kind of things you guys are interested in and what else we could do in the Community section to improve user engagement. Thanks! |

I think we should start from scratch, and if the shops that were there wanted to continue, then they just need to post right? Personally, you and I are the first to actually talk about it, so I think we should start it. I think we need to make icraft more exciting, and I'm not really sure how to do that... Maybe some new theme for bootcamp would be a start...
