How do I depict nothingness you ask? It's the use of positve and negative space. For example: stencils are a form of void. There is a space in a word or shape in a stencil. You trace the stencil or paint or whatever to transfer that negative image on to paper/fabric, what-have-you as a positive image.
Other examples of the Void:
- anything made from a stencil
- anything that is a "comfort" or "feel good" item (to fill the void within you)
- anything with a balance of full and empty spaces
- any photography! - most photography is based on positive and negative space captured in
every shot
- anything black to represent outer space - the
ultimate void!
- for that matter, anything outer space related!
- anything black and white (especially in an alternating pattern, ooo!)
- anything else that you can think of!
It’s never too late to add an entry to this series of blog challenges. All you have to do is make something that can be linked to the theme and then make a blog post on your iCraft blog about it!
This will run to the end of the year. Get your thinking caps on and let's have a second look at how we use space in our pieces!
