My Lemons are Beads and I shall Make Lemonade

Posted by: Time and Sand

Sometimes life hands you lemons, but sometimes life hands you the lemonade!

Last Monday I got a wonderful pitcher of life lemonade, thanks to Clint from Auntie's Beads!  I received an email from him wondering if I might be interested in making a jewelry design using Auntie's Beads products for a post on A Wrapper's View. They would give me my choice of beads (up to a certain dollar amount) from their site and mail them to me!  All they were asking in return would be a link on my blog and to the appropriate categories of where the materials are located on their site.  Would I be interested?!  Does a bear ... in the woods, do geese fly south? Of course, I'm interested, where do I sign up!

So Tuesday evening I spent a wonderful 2+ hours in their web store, dreaming to my heart's desire and putting those beads that tickled my fancy into my cart.  A beader's dream for sure!

I have picked out the following:
Blue Agate Tumbled Nugget Bead Strand, 16mm
Lampwork Oval Focal Bead/Pendant, Blue with Copper Swirls, 15 x 29mm
Mother of Pearl Teardrop Pendant with Resin Coating, Silver, 30 x 45mm
Cloudy Agate Puffed Coin Pendant, 40mm
Brown Granite Jasper Round Bead Strand, 8mm
Sterling Silver Rounded Square Toggle with Etching, 15mm
Czech Glass Pinch Bicone Strand, Matte Topaz AB, 4mm
Czech Glass Pinch Bicone Strand, Topaz/Copper, 4mm
Czech Glass Picasso Oval Bead Strand, Capri Blue, 14 x 19mm
Czech Glass Cube Strand, Luster Opaque Navy, 4m
Sky Blue Jade Round Bead Strand, 6mm

My beads arrived on Friday and my mind is swirling with the possibilities and I have an idea at the moment, but who knows, sometimes the beads and wire voice their own ideas when I get started.

So here is to life’s lemonade!
Please tune in and I will chat again soon, now that my show season is over. I never book shows after Thanksgiving, this time is for my family, my church, and my regular customers.
I hope you will follow along with me as I journey down the design path to a final piece of jewelry.

Blessings to All!  C.
