Spirit of the North is a pen and ink drawing on a calf jawbone. It measures about 18" tip to tip and about 8" top to bottom not including the feathers and hanger. The drawing depicts a bison on a western US landscape. It is embellished with peacock feathers and a hand spun wool hanger. According to Native American lore, the bison is abundance. It is a sacred animal that provided the planes people with much of what was needed to live. It represents the spirit if the north.
