There is a lot of discussion online about recent changes to Etsy's Policies to allow manufactured goods to be posted on their site. What really upset me is how Zibbet is now claiming to be a true "all handmade marketplace". Even Toronto Star republished their story without verifying that claim. Zibbet allows vintage and supplies, so how they can say that their site is truly handmade? So much misinformation!

And Etsy, they always had mass-produced factory-made items on their site. Now they just made it official. At least, they are not saying anymore that they are all handmade marketplace.

Hi Craft Boutique,
Thanks for sharing that link! The fact that Toronto newspaper wouldn't mention Toronto-based site and mentioned Australian business instead upset us too.  Roll Eyes

That's what big money does to a business - it changes it at its core. I wonder how many new crafters joined the site since Etsy announced their policy change.
