Here are 3 I updated. Until this post I had never noticed the tags for picture either. I have learned so much, and yet feel I have so much more to learn. After everything I could find and read about banners, I still can't figure out how to redo mine (I'll cheat and ask my son to come over and do it again) grown up kids are an amazing asset. One of the most important things I learned along the way was how important it is to ABC check my listings, I am going back through each adding new and improved photos and spell checking. I would really like to know more about not doing away with old listings when something sells, I read to reuse that listing keeps it higher on replacement engine, but don't quite get how to do it. Thank you all for the huge (only partially digested) education I have gotten from all the posts this boot camp. Smiles, Caralyn

Hi Caralyn,

Actually, you can't remove the listing of the product, that has been sold. It might not appear in your store, but we still keep a record of it in the database for audit purposes and to display buyer's feedback for that item.

The problem is really with products that don't sell well. Often times people simply remove those listings and create a few new listings instead. What we are suggesting to do is to update product Title and Description of those items, change Quantity from "0" to 1 (or more) and post your new items under the same listings. This way your new products would appear under the old URLs. It's the best way to preserve the links pointing to those pages, which is important for SEO. Hope this helps. Thanks!

We were already using the captions but we made them  more descriptive.

Super ya done good on this exercise!

Really good captions especially on your first one.  Couple of typos which can be a killer unless everyone makes the same typos as you do.

I have a real problem with my cursor jumping around on my screen when my laptop gets too warm and I have all kinds of typos and misplaced words.  One good thing is that our admin has it set up so that whenever we have a spelling mistake a little red line shows up under the word highlighting the error. I always have booboos too Smiley

Good work Weezi! Any questions on the keywords?

Cheers

A few suggestions on the words you put in Titles, Captions and web copy in general:

- Avoid using special characters like ****, ~~~, ------ or characters in different languages.
Search engines can't always read them properly and they often cause problems with how content is being displayed or when its being used by other sites, like Twitter.

For Titles and Tags:

- Avoid using words like the, and, to, for
They take precious space in the Title area, though Google doesn't consider them to be important and skips them anyway.

Here are 3 of my products with updated photo descriptions:

I'm not sure if my descriptions are varied enough.  Do all of the photos require descriptions?

Good stuff!!!

You might want to add a few more words to give the caption a bit more "ta-da".

Like "Blue Stripe Tuque a Fashionable Winter Look"

I think we have room for a bit of sales pitch in captions so long as it is short and sweet.  Think of the 5 or 6 word captions you see in magazines pictures.

Middle item....

Wow! I didn't know there were such things as "worry" or "fidget" rings but yes those are good keywords.

Yes, it is good if every picture has a caption.

By the way... are they for males or females or unisex?  Those are words that could be used in your captions, titles or descriptions.

Good job!

Good point about using women, men, unisex.  I do specify "unisex" on some of my listings, but never thought to specify gender.
I will do that from now on.  Thanks!

I do a lot of shopping online.  I am over 40 but much younger than 60.  Grin   I know it is shocking isn't it  Shocked

Because of my age I use different terminology like ladies' or women's as apposed to my daughter who might replacement for "girls" or female.

My husband might replacement (never does) for men's, gents' or man's as apposed to my son who might replacement for "guys"

I would never use the term unisex because I like things distinctively feminine and not questionably masculine.

The point that I am making is that we should consider if stating gender or genderized words (not sure if that is a word) according to the targeted age / gender are useful keywords?Huh

Just a thought... what do you others think or am I just getting old and annal???  Kiss

By the way... for those of you that might be wondering... my daughter is 32ish. It was a Ripley's-Believe-it-or-not-miracle- birth for me at the young age of 9.  And amazingly...  people always say how much younger I look than my daughter.
