hey iCrafties,
what trends are really getting you down right now?
skinny jeans, wedges, rainboots, babydoll jackets, or - i don't even know what they are properly called, so perhaps someone can help me with this -- but they are white, puffy, moonwalker-type shoes. they've been popping up everywhere... yiiiikes!
tell us which ones are the worst offenders - and why!

we are in transition now... Spring fashion is coming up everywhere...but to my picky taste..the worst offender is the skinny jeans...the ones that were really tight that you would have to fight with your own thighs just to get in. Crocs is super tacky....I am not wearing it even in my farm. Super big bags...like TNA's esp. when carried by petite women...is not really attractive. That's just me... PS. Moonwalker white boots were out about 2 years ago..not really every where. It's just probably a left over fashion that some people pick up at a very large discount.

hey,
i totally agree... aaand if those moonwalker boots were ever popular, i'm glad i missed it! haha... i don't see how these things happen in the first place... like crocs - honestly, who ever would have imagined they'd end up everywhere? it's crazy
anothing thing i'm not really a fan of is this super peasant-girl kind of look... kind of like how mary-kate olsen dresses. i like the bohemian look alright, but it seems to go way too far sometimes. i think it's the shirts that get to me - they're all huge and billowy with those "ugly on purpose" prints. buuut we're not in the 70s anymore!

I guess...to each his own. Still...i won't ever get caught in those ridiculous fashion trends. Their stylist are paid by the designers to let them wear those stupid styles. Hey,it's money...ugly but still money!
PS>>>living in Toronto is a lot forgiving to all these unflattering designs and weird looks.

thanks jenny! crocs are the worst!
yeah, i was just shopping yesterday and kept seeing so many girls in those super duper skinny jeans. they just don't look good. i don't mind the straighter cut as i think huge flares look weird too, but honestly, you shouldnt have to squeeze your foot into your pants! hahaa
and shophelens, i agree about fashion trends.. i like to look put together and somewhat stylish, but trend-chasers aren't my idea of style queens. they just get told what to do by magazines and things, it's not very creative

They are just horrible and I cant believe they would/are actually any good for your feet...add in the nasty colors and the fact that (around here) people wear them with jogging pants and oversized kitty cat print sweatshirts....
ugh!
btw, Im new and loving this site! :-)

I don't like skinny jeans as well, but I'm gonna hafta to defend a particular style of Crocs... the Cleo sandals. I think they are cute and are super comfortable, especially standing 6 hours for craft shows. ~ melissa https://icraftgifts.com/villa-design

I voted for the skinny jeans too - mainly because my body in a pair of those should be illegal!
I'm not fond of crocs either, but my youngest (16yo) daughter has a pair and loves them. I don't really like Uggs either - but both of my girls have them too.

Well Lord have mercy on us women that are curvey, I don't mean super over weight, but shapely. Who the heck in their right mind thinks putting a pair tight jeans on is so cool when tight jeans make a MUFFIN TOP??? MUSHROOM HANG OVER??? LOL This is not attractive and it doesn't have to look that way, buy clothes that look good on you not because they are the in fashion. Buy the pair of jeans that compliments the beautiful woman you are!

I think skinny jeans are okay for anyone under 18 or any clothing mentioned above.

I have two pairs of cigarette-cut pants, and I love them. But they're not skinny jeans at all ! In fact, if I can fit in those jeans, they're not skinny =P I don't have to squeeze my feet in to put them on, and I don't have to wrestle with them to take em off... That's something I'd never do.
But crocs. Errr... No. Never. Many pregnant women around me bought a pair cause they're loose and comfy (Because of swollen sore feet) but a friend of mine, as swollen and red and sore her feet could get, swore to never buy those =P Just a little thing about crocs ; We're not allowed to wear them, at the company I work for !

I think the best thing is to dress for your body type and don't follow fashion trends too much.

Low rise jeans should be banished FOREVER!!!! Hideous! I don't want to have to look at any more bum cracks and pubic bones on girls of any age or size. If you jeans sit under your hip done...they are not pants anymore. Your pockets should be on your bumm..not the back of your thigh. A muffin top is no one's friend. Sorry- I had to vent. Thanx for listening PS_ tights are tights and not pants. I f I can see your panties thru your tights....we have a problem. I will shut up now....

PS_ tights are tights and not pants. I f I can see your panties thru your tights....we have a problem. I will shut up now.... OMG - WEEZI - I am with you here too! With the 80's fashion swinging in, there have been cases of long sweaters (not long enough to be a dress, but just past the bum) and TIGHTS and knee-high or sometimes thigh-high boots. I work in a professional accounting firm. These are accountants-in-training. I'm sorry, but you must wear PANTS to work with your shirts! Not tights or leggings. The opacity of the leggings DOES NOT transform them in to pants! Thanks for letting me rant too. By the way, I woud have voted to the skinny jean by a landslide too.

Well ladies... Nice to hear some sanity coming back to the fashion world... but we may be in a minority With spring/summer around the corner we are going to see a lot of crack in the under 30 age group. Not picking on these people... just sayin.

This was a fun post.... Skinny jeans got the most votes a couple years ago and some were predicting "sanity coming back to the fashion world". Wondering what has changed since... What fashion trend do you hate now? I still look away when I see low-rise jeans, well, sitting too low

I think 80's-esque are still in right now. Starting to see it in the hair-styles.
