Question about categories

I'm a bit confused....

On the front page, under Gifts for Him, there is often a man's ring, and under that, you can click on a link to "rings for men".  That brings me to the same results of 8 men's rings each time.  I have a ring that is unisex, that I have under rings for men as well as under rings for women and it doesn't appear in the list.  Shouldn't all the rings for men appear there?  Or is there something about the way the categories are set up that only gives results for updated items or items that only appear in one category?
