Hello, fellow Creators. So... I notice our iCraft blogs and the iCraft forums are weakly populated. I have been brainstorming for some time on how to involve more people and draw more eyeballs to iCraft as a whole. Admin is working on SEO and their part, but I think we can pitch in too!
Here's my idea: Blog challenges!
Huh? say you
Here's how it goes. In the forums, I will post a challenge - not more than one a month. You can create at your leisure and blog about your entry (under the challenges category) at your will (within a month though). If you maintain a blog outside of iCraft, I would encourage you to make the main entry on your iCraft blog and simply direct your other blog to the fuller entry on iCraft.
I would probably base the challenges on nature and the elements to make the possibilities as broad as possible across crafts. For example: A challenge entry for the Wind could include: flying things (birds, butteflies, bees) or flying machines (airplanes, kites), clouds, diamonds (for clear air), wind-blown anything or stormy something, or something that is predominantly sky colours: white or light blue.
What do you think? Will you play along with the challenges?
Reasons why challenges are good for you: * inspires you to create (and likely list) * generates traffic * moves us together so we become more cohesive (or at least look it!)
WHO IS INTERESTED?? If enough are interested, I will use the Wind as the first one and make a separate thread with all the rules, etc.
