Handmade Store: Fernando Ortiz

Born in Bogota, Colombia in 1971, attended for 6 years the Arts faculty at the National University graduating as Master of Fine Art specialized in drawing and art theory.

Right after the education years, he began showing his work both in Colombia and the US where private and public collections maintain his paintings-drawings in permanent display as part of their modern collection, among them The Art Museum of Western Virginia.

His approach to art has been deeply influenced by the processes lived in Latin American cultural evolution and his performance in the graphic and animation industries.

He has established his painting studio in Toronto, the place he now calls home, in the heart of this city's vibrant art community.
