Welcome to Thornberry and Thistle, home of my Scrap Babies. My Scrap Babies are handmade one of a kind wood dolls. My Babies are my environmental project, each made of reclaimed scrap wood and scrap fabric. I created Scrap Babies fifteen years ago as an example for my children how simple it is for each of us to do our part to protect our environment. Most of the Babies' dresses and hair come from my private collection of vintage fabric remanents saved from sewing projects. The wood comes from scrap lumber that I saved from being dumped in the landfill. Scrap Babies come with a dear poem written by my mother that tells thier story perfectly! I personnaly cut-out, sand, paint and dress every unique Baby. Scrap Babies can be name-personalized for you, just let me know the recepients name when ordering or; I will send a blank card for you to personalize. You may special order color schemes or ethnicity as well. Scrap Babies are dresser or shelf-sitters and are not considered a toy.

April 6: Today, I have added my personal design of wooden fruit! In keeping with my environmental project, my cuts are from reclaimed scrap lumber...saved from going to the landfill! Each set includes: Grapes, Banana, Peach, Pear, Apple, Apricot, Orange, Strawberry and Cherries (1 each). Bon Apetite!
