My mother taught me to sew when I was about 5 years old. I don't remember learning to crochet, but after 20+ years of it I switched to knitting. Now I do all three. People tell me they don't have the patience for stuff like that. My answer is that I do them because I have no patience. I don't like sitting around doing nothing. I take my knitting or crocheting with me everywhere. That is how I deal with waiting in doctor's offices, breaks at work and other boring times.
