Handmade Store: Knits 2 Love

Knitting has been a passion for me since I was little girl. I learned to knit when I was about 6 years old. I would make clothes for my dolls.
I knitted for my children. Later I opened a yarn store where I also taught knitting , crochet and machine knitting. I started to design my own patterns. My store closed when the management closed to remodel the historic center.
In College Park MD we had a cat rescue group with whom I was involved. I started to knit catnip mice as a found raiser. The money helped defray some of the expenses with a cat rescue. Later Is started to make and sell the mice and catnip whales to other rescue groups.
Now I live In Cambridge MD enjoying knitting in my garden surrounded by flowers and plant some more exotic than others, all to attract the butterflies bees and hummingbirds. I sell my wears at craft shows and at the local art center.
For my knits I prefer natural fibers for adult like wool, alpaca, silk unless requested otherwise.I like to incorporate some of the colors of my garden in some of my designs. For children I prefer acrylics because it is easier to take care of or upon special request.
