Handwashing is possible in warm (maximum 30 degree) or cold water with liquid soap. Colors will not fade after washing and shape will not deform. But,It`s not fit for wash machine.

This needle lace necklace is a type of lace created using a needle and thread to stitch up hundreds of small stitches to form the lace itself. It`s one of best sample of Turkish oya hand craft.

The only equipment and materials used are a needle, thread and scissors. It is made by taking the needle and thread and forming loops which are tightened into knots. The tightness of the knots creates small square and triangular stitches. This type of stitching is known as oya which has been used in scarves of Anatolian women for centuries.

It’s very intricate technique and takes years to master. Our silk needle laces are produced with strong silk fiber so they do NOT deform, loose shape or break. Such lace is very durable and will not unravel if one or more loops are broken.

As the craft evolved, the various lace motifs began to take on certain symbolic meanings. Oya lace has always had a story or message to communicate – love, sadness, yearning, mourning and joy. It was almost like a secret language between the women. These beautiful flowers have their own mysterious language.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Put the items in a bowl filled with warm water and some liquid detergent. Shake the bowl gently a few minutes. After rinsing, lay it down to air dry. Do NOT wring the items.
It can be washed with warm water and soap in a jar. And it does NOT deform at all. The stitches are very tight and strong too so they do not break up.
