Hello. I'm a gemini....so what else needs to be said. From an early age my Dad's mother Lizzie, also another gemini, always had her hands buzy with needles and/or crochet hook. So Sooner or later I suppose it had to influence me and to learn from her. She would make beautiful lace for garments , table cloths, pillowcases. My Mom's mother was a wonderful Quilter, so I was surrounded with talent. As life moved on I continued to use my hands in the same fashion. After marriage, many doilies, baby sets and articles were created by me. Winning many awards and prizes. In my lifetime I worked with fabrics at Singer Sewing for years, eventually working in Graphic design, sales and finally piblishing a weekly Newspaer for 15 years, now in the era of the computer. All while rearing a family of four. At the same time taking any courses that furthered my creative impulsives. Hence, the hand-crafted gemstone jewelery and silk knotting of beads.
After retirement.....a daughter took ill and is now waiting a Lung Transplant In Toronto as we speak after several years in and out of hospitals. So I busied myself with my hands again. Mainly to provide a cash flow for needs that come along with chronic care for a loved one. So a portion of my sales are slated for a fund raiser for Toronto General Hospital in 2011. So my dream is to create beautiful creations and to help realize my dream while making others happy to wear and enjoy my work.
