Hi guys,

Hope everyone had a great weekend? I returned home this Sunday after visiting my boyfriend's grandmother, who was having a spring clean and bought home some serious treasures!

*3 vintage Le Creuset pans
*1 canary yellow glass Pyrex bowl
*1 vintage ceramic vegetable dish
*1 metal snack tray with lovely wooden handles
*1 ceramic butter dish

You can take a peek here! http://thebeatthatmyheartskipped.wordpress.com/2009/03/15/new-stash/

I would love to hear the best freebies any of you guys have received? Family heirlooms? Unwanted homewares? Things only you collect?

Those are GREAT finds!! In fact, I have a whole cupboard full of that stainless steel snack tray design - they were popular in the 70s.

Thanks for sharing!

I cannot go out and find more treasures so I have nothing to share that way. We have so many family items that I need to weed through, but it is so fun.

Hi Linda,

Wow! A whole cupboard?? It's so strange how trends come and go - i was thinking the other day that the whole mid-century and Scandi thing is so popular right now and to me it feels so right and classic and a good investment but a few years down the will it seem passe? I hope not!

What are your fav family treasures? How exciting!

I also scored this from grandma a while ago - i was over the moon!

That is a fabulous vintage food prep find. My grandmother had one too and from it came years of delicious breads, mashed potatoes, pies and cakes!

I do love the stainless steel scandi designs. They were so popular in the early 70s. It is fun that vintage is so popular and mainstream these days.

Love your blog too. Ottolenghi’s window photos were like I could reach in and grab a few cakes!

I never thought of using it for Mash!

I think its great that ALL design is mainstream these days - we are so lucky that we can get just about anything we want on the net, whatever your taste!

This article in particular started me thinking about the abundance of tastes catered for in the world!!!
