What to do about a non-paying buyer?

I received a rosary order on 8/13, with a note that the buyer would be paying by personal check.  I noticed the buyer does not live far from me so I expected the check quickly.

I needed to ask them a question about the order, so I emailed her the day after I received the order.  I received no response and just assumed she had put the answer in the mail with her check.

To date (13 days later) I have not received a check.  I have emailed her two more times and not received a response.  I tried emailing her direct and through icraft.

Do you guys think I have done enough?  I have gone ahead and relisted the item.  I won't leave a nasty, negative feedback, because that just isn't me.  But once I feel I've done all I can I will leave some kind of note in her feedback.  I just feel like if it was some kind of legitimate problem, she would have contacted me by now (all contact info, email, phone, address, is readily available).

I couldn't find an iCraft policy, just terms about timely payment and shipping.   Is there a way, or a reason, to report a non-paying buyer?

Thanks,
Kelly

I was wondering a similar question - I have just had my first sale a couple of days ago ... and the person was supposed to pay by PayPal but hasn't.

I emailed her twice and no answer.

She has no feedback - joined the day of the sale ...

Where from here?  Any advice?
Thanks!!

DianeClancy,
On the Paypal payment, probably just a gentle reminder would help.  I have to do that sometimes on my other E site.

Sometimes the customer thinks they are finished with the transaction without following through all the way to their PayPal account.

It can be disappointing, especially on that first sale.  By the way, congratulations!

Hey guys,

It's really unfortunate when buyers don't follow through with the payment. The only way to report a non-paying buyer is by leaving a negative Feedback on them. We would actually encourage you to do so to protect others and worn them about potential problems when dealing with that person.

The way our Feedback System works is that you can easily update/change your Feedback at a later date, if/when the issue is resolved.

Here is what we state in our email to buyers "If you haven’t already done so, please ensure you pay for your purchase within the next three days. "
and "Please Note: This Creator has the right to cancel this order and relist the item(s) if your payment is not received on time."

Important thing to remember - Never ship your item until you receive the payment for it!

I wanted to give you all an update of ny situation.  I sent another email and a 'reminder' postcard.  I received an email response a couple of days later.  She had not received any emails from me and thanked me for the postcard.  She had lost the payment information.  I received her check a couple of days later.

I guess just because an email is sent, doesn't mean it was received!  I think from now on I'll put something in my listings about checking for emails in the SPAM or junk folder.  Some systems are just way to aggressive at filtering!

How would you know how to send a post card to the buyer?  Oh, I see ... perhaps I will do that too .... this is what I just wrote her

Hi (name),

Do you remember that you bought my ACEO Compassion?

Perhaps you thought you had already paid as you bought it, but you didn't.  If you haven’t already done so today, please ensure you pay for your purchase within the next three days.

Please note that I will need to give you negative feedback if I do not hear from you within 3 days.  I am sure it was an oversight on your part - but please communicate with me!

Thank you!.

I have taken into account what everyone has written ... I will do a postcard now ... I have been concerned she didn't get the email ... and she bought this the day she joined.

thank you all again!

I would also explain to the buyer how they can pay for the item now. That may be confusing for them.

I want to thank everyone for your help!! I ended up taking the advice to send a postcard.  She had not gotten the emails ... who knows why.

She had had trouble with the PayPal verification so she is sending me a money order (USPO) and then I will send her the item.

Thank you all so much!!
