Hey guys.. Just wondering if you're selling your crafts in any "Gift shops" or Boutiques?
I'm not talking about other online places. and if you are, is it a success or not?
I use to sell my soaps, lotions etc in several gift shops a long time ago:) ~Norma

Hi Norma,
I'm just getting ready to put my items in a local shop. It's a tourist town area and there are all sorts of items in there. I've heard good feedback about sales, so I'm hoping it will be good for me too.
Are you thinking of going back into shops, or just wondering what other people are doing?

I have Jewelry Totes on consignment in a boutique and have sold to two others wholesale. So far it has been pretty good especially around Christmas.
It never hurts to get more exposure. I would love to get some more custom orders for bridesmaid gifts. That has been a good source of income this past month.

Definitely. I am in my local artisan/crafts outlet and regularly get sales. The exposure is the best part though - people see something and then come and enquire directly for more things.

I have never sold to shops but I have done pretty great the past month, at the local school!! Its surprising how much stuff teachers and secretaries buy when they see your products!!!

I'm only in one gift shop right now. But I do really well there. I would love to get into a couple more. I did a market a few weeks ago and a woman inquired about wholesale. I hope something comes from that.

I have sold to shop owner in the past in Door Co. Wisconsin, and then she can sell for whatever price works for her. This year she is on hold in purchasing as the economy in the US sucks. I hope she will come back and purchase as that was 1/3 of my sales last year. I am picking up the art fair schedule this year in hopes of recovering the loss.

I just sent my soaps to a shop that's opening in Tennesse. As a matter of fact, she should be receiving the box today.
This is my first time having my soaps in a B&M shop. So, I guess we'll see. I'll be sending some accessories for mothers and babies too.

Hey!
i sell my items in several boutiques and art galleries here in Latvia and pretty successful.
i am selling for couple a years now but decided to try it also to offer my items online because shops usually add 200% addition price and that makes it very expensive.
but online selling seems more complicated than i thought. i tried Etsy but it was too time demanding.
i have no sales here yet but i hope it will get better soon.

I am interested in it but sales are slow everywhere in our area so I'm not sure if I can afford to put my items in a shop. If anyone knows a good shop in Wisconsin Dells or Madison, WI ... let me know!

I have my items in a couple of local shops and some not so local shops. In order to make the transition to selling wholesale I did have to bump up my prices so I could still be a little profitable.
