unpaid sale

I have a sale posted but it shows it is not paid for. Not sure how to tactically handle this. Any suggestions?

You can follow up with the customer, but don't ship your items until you get paid.

My last few "sales" have been this way - unpaid and no response from customer. After failed attempts to contact and no payment, I cancel the sale.
