Shipping is always a hot topic, especially during the holiday season, so I wanted to start this thread to share tips on shipping and shipping alternatives.

I see more people now use ChitChats.com, instead of Canada Post. Check if their rates are better for shipping your items.

Which shipping services do you use?
Do you have tips on shipping this holiday season?

I usually ship my packages via USPS through my local postal annex. Recently I was asked about  shipping packages to Canada. This is something that I had been considering for quite some time, so I made a few phone calls to various postal stores (including our local post office) to determine rates. Basically it is expensive to ship from USA to Canada, but the feedback I received is that you can reduce some of the cost by providing your own shipping boxes, mailers, etc.

If you register a small business account at Purolator, they give 40% discount for the first year. And then you can call to extend it... Saw this on Facebook.

People are also recommending Pirate Ship for easy use and cheaper shipping rates.
