We’re reaching out to let you know that there may be a disruption in Canada Post service as a result of an ongoing labour dispute. If the dispute isn’t resolved, Canada Post will likely stop accepting new shipments and delivering mail and parcels already in the mailstream as early as September 25. At that time, you won’t be able to purchase Canada Post shipping labels at Canada Post retail counters or via their website until the dispute is resolved.
In 2016, Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers went through a similar negotiation process which was resolved with little to no disruption to delivery services. We’ll share more information as we get it. In the meantime, consider rereplacementing alternative shipping carriers and make a plan for how you’ll communicate with your customers if there is a disruption.
You can sign up to receive updates about the dispute on the Canada Post website
