Shipping and Handling cost

This is for the US sellers.  I live in the Southwest and I was just trying to come up with the best cost for
S&H.  Does everyone separate the price of the item for the S&H or is it easier just to combine it in the price of
your item.  How did anyone come up with the way to make the decision on how it's done?  I make home-made greeting
cards and I know sending a single card is one thing, but when you get into sending multiple it would obviously be more.
