Home shows anyone?

I'm just wondering if anyone has done home shows to promote their shop?

What I"m thinking for myself, is to give short knitting instructions, have some snacks and then give my presentation of my products, and let the people touch them. Hopefully people will take orders or purchase from my premaids.

Right now my window of sales is closing up fast- i don't think people will purchase wool hats after the winter starts.. so i might be too late, but maybe i'll get lucky.. I think i need to bring in more cotton..

Any suggestions or comments would be great!

Hi Lisa! Definitely bring in cotton... make it pink and sell to cancer patients.  I suggest this as a friend of mine lost her hair after her treatments and she complained about the lack of decent headwear.

Have no advice about homeshows... but Careful doing home shows as you may affect your home insurance. If someone hurts themselves on your property it can have remarkably bad implications for you.

Lots of people do parties- for Candle Lite, Tupperware, Avon- I don't think most people think about insurance... I wouldn't do just parties at my own house... but for the people above, do their parent company cover insurance at their host's house? If that is true, then I don't know what would cover me- would I have to get some type of business insurance??
