Blogging on iCraft

I noticed under the topic "Mommy Blogs" that Christine from Pillow Throw Decor posted "Blogging on iCraft is super simple."  Is this the feature under Community called Blog Centre that you're referring to?  I don't know anything about this.  I do have a personal blog for neatTreats but not Ewe Cute Baby, so I was wondering if you could elaborate on the iCraft blog.  Are there rules or guidelines, or can it be shameless self-promotion? LOL

Also is the blog only accessible to iCraft sellers on the website, or is it something the general public has access to, i.e., someone on Twitter for example?

I'd appreciate some general information on the blog.

Thanks so much.

I don't know about twitter and feeds from the central blog, but what I do know is that the general public can view your blog.  I do not know whether anyone with an iCraft account can blog (sellers or otherwise) or only sellers.  I also believe that admin currently reviews blog posts to approve them before they are live.

Personally, I do not think the blog interface is that intuitive.  I find the adding a picture part to be little cumbersome.  You can access your blog to make posts under "My Account", scroll to the bottom.  There should be a "My Blog" section.  Use "Add Post".  When you use "View All Posts", you can see which ones have been approved or declined, etc.

That's all I know for now.  It's a start!

Hi Pam,

All Creators on iCraft have access to the blog. To set it up, click on the Blog Profile page on the left nav within “My Account” https://icraftgifts.com/member_blog_profile.php and enter some basic information. Then click on the “Add New Blog Post” link on the left https://icraftgifts.com/member_blog_post_detail.php Your posts shouldn't be purely promotional. It’s ok to include your products in the post, if you have a good story tell and your products fit within that story. Currently, we monitor all blog posts to make sure they don't have broken links, strange messages or have too much advertising in them. The key is good content. Your post has to appeal to our readers - lovers of arts ,crafts and handmade. Thanks!

Hey Ewe cute baby!

Ensorcelled Minds is right... it feels a bit cumbersome at first but short learning curve.

The number of views you will get is directly proportionate to the relevance your content is. One page got over 1000 views and others have only had 30. A lot will depend on your promotion on twitter and elsewhere.

Right after this bootcamp we will be doing one on icraft blogging.  It is a great place to start if you don't have a personal blog and even if you do it is easy enough to take some of your previous posts and rework them a bit to post on icraft.  You don't want them to be identical as you won't have as much impact if any on Google.

Blogging is an excellent way to increase views exponentially.

Cheers

Christine
