Tell us what you sell.
1) Post your list #1 (people that might be interested in your product)
2) Post your list #2 (things that you might have in common)

Maybe we can all help you expand your lists.

Cheers

So for your first list... think in terms of the "types" of followers, example...

Fashion fiends
Vintage lovers
Fashion mags
Women entrepreneurs
Movie industry
Event planners
Wedding planners
Weight loss groups

With these people you will probably talk with them about...
Fashion trends
Colour trends
Weightloss programs
Social networking (everyone is interested in this right now)
Accesorizing (Handbags)

... so I would follow and RT leaders in these areas and find interesting articles about this stuff that I could tweet about.

I am guessing a bit at this stuff but I am certain it will lead you into people interested in your product as a buyer rather than another seller.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Christine

Hey Callidora.. LOL...

You are doing just fine.  This stuff is not easy and not always logical.

And, I do the same thing.  i sew and sew and sew somedays without much thought on what I am creating and to whom it will go to.  that's our artistic minds on the loose!

Uhm... well... I do not twitter... so I blogged on my iCraft blog.  Zs Knees was in it... but nothing came out.  Both my blog posts say "pending".  I don't know what to do.

(1) My Target Market:
Social Butterflies
Paper lovers
Scrapbookers
Gift Shops

(2) Common ground:
Love of paper
Scrapbooking
Personal Touch to gift giving

Sorry, I'm not good at it.  My target market is actually quite broad.  It's hard to narrow it down.

Broaden or niche this is about getting YOU out there!

Can't do it anymore!

It's past midnight, haven't even read the assignment, baby won't sleep, going out of town tomorrow for holiday weekend but haven't packed, haven't even managed to wash the dishes.

I tried but it's just too much Smiley

You poor girl... Can relate well to baby's not sleeping... except I am a gramma and LOVE it when baby doesn't sleep but then of course I get to send them home.

Not to worry dear girl.  I will give it a think and list some ideas for you.

Ok..I have ALWAYS had trouble with this!!!
I know my definition of who buys Weezi is very broad...but I always say people who like something different.
That is way too broad and vague I know.

Seriously, this has been one of my biggest problems since day one.
I THINK I know who comes in and buys and why they buy but it has been difficult for me to get beneath the surface on this issue and I am not sure why.
So for me...this is one of the more difficult assignments.

As far as the clothing and bags:

1. I sell to women between 18 and 55...this is indeed true.
2. vintage lovers
3.women who like indie fashion
4.party goers
5.women who don't like to shop at the mall
6. students
7. stylists
8. photographers
Huh

Things in common:
1. thrifting and second hand shopping
2.vintage clothing, accessories,housewares,ads etc.
3. sewing
4. fabric and notions
5. fashion styles and trends...dos and don'ts
6. indie style
7. indie designers
8. self employment
9. shopping online..how to find and attract paying customers
10.inspiration from history of clothing
11. pin up and pin up photography
12. Canadians and selling in Canada....in person and online.
13. like minded bloggers

I like to talk so I could go on for awhile.... Smiley
I am finding it a wee bit hard to search for certain things on Twitter...for like minded people other then the vintage crowd.

thanx!!! I am going to be very sad when this is over Sad

Hey good for you!  You did good thinking it all through!

I'm going to push you in one more direction....

You use upcycled stuff for your handbags .... so look for people that like repurposed, recyled, found, green, eco, ecochic, sustainable.

You will find a lot of these commonalities in
young mommies
lifestyle writers and thinkers
Women as office personnel (civic workers too)
people ecologically conscientious
vegans (I have found them not to mind used leather and especially like     faux leather
steampunkers
younger "hip" people that listen to a lot of music

For your aprons focus on
Home made Food,
Recipies
Entertaining and home dining
Hostess gifts

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Oh those are good! Cheesy

I don't know why I didn't think of these: repurposed, recyled, found, green, eco, ecochic, sustainable.

Recipes! so easy...but honestly that would have never occurred to me.
Hostess gift is golden.

This is really very helpful...I really appreciate it!

I will use all of those over the weekend.
So..when I go to search on Twitter I put those key words in the find bar and see what I get ....or is there another way to search in Twitter that I am missing???

Thanx Christine!!! we need to have a sellers boot camp part 2

Thank-you, Christine.  Only thing is, I can't produce in bulk.  Bulk Invitations are out!

But - this has given me the idea of real estate agents maybe.  They often leave a gift for the homebuyer.

Thanks for helping me think!

Common interests, Z, children!

You should hang out at children's groups.  You should frequent parenting blogs too!

Haha! Yes, children. Well, I did write "parenting", but yes, children too.

As for groups... so far I have tried 3 local play groups, but they were geared toward SAHMs. 95% of their get-togethers are while I'm at work. Even La Leche League meets in the mid-morning! But I'm still looking for one that fits my schedule... I know, I need those groups in more ways than one!

I recently discovered singlemommyhood.com, I think it's called. If you know of other good blogs let me know!

Thank you for the advice! Smiley
