Today is all about Twitter following.
1)Make a list of all the people that might be interested in your product. Example: I sell pillows, throws and am introducing pillow kits so my buyers might be the following
Designers Interior decorators Furniture stores Geeks for my geek pillows Gift stores Home stagers Realtors as gifts for their clients Other sellers that don’t sew
2) Make a list of the things that interest you that you might have in common with these people. Here are mine as an example.
Decorating Home décor Drapery making Fabrics Geek stuff Social networking Online selling
3)Find some people to follow that fit your list #1
4) Find sources of information that fit your list #2. That will include information sites and other Tweeps that are experts in those areas. They will have valuable things to say that are worth tweeting.
When starting out with these new people spend some time listening to what interests them and join in on the conversation when you can or at least retweet things of value. This is going to take more than just overnight… It may take several weeks before you have some of these “other people” helping you to retweet your messages but it is definitely worth the time investment.
