So what did you think about that blog article?  Did you manage to squeeze a new listing in too?  Post it here so we can tweet it.

Cheers

Listed new items and updated a few.
Learned something new today.

I had uploaded new listings the other day.  Because the photos take some time, I loaded them up, put them ON HOLD, and went back over the last couple of days to write the product descriptions, etc.

Just learned that when you do that, it shows as an UPDATED! item when you "go live".  Learn something new everyday!  So now I know I have to clone it, write the description and then "go live" with the clone and it will show as NEW!

I'm sure many of you already knew this, and I'm the idiot that just realized it.. hahahaha!

off to read the article, thanks for sharing it Christine!

oh, and I blogged about the new products too!

Way to go!

LOL... The cloning is a good way of refreshing a listing. We did that on a previous Bootcamp.... it needs to be pointed out so no you are no dummy. Smiley

Of course it is best if you do have NEW product as you can't trick Google with recycling older listings.

Hey folks,

Just so you all know, the reason I haven't posted since day 5 is due to the passing of my father.  I'll have to catch up with the next round of bootcamp for sure, I was really lovin it!  For now, I have too much to keep up with to play catch up for this round of bootcamp.  I enjoyed reading all of your posts while I was in the game.  Thanks!!!

I am so sorry to hear that dear Erin. The loss of a parent is so hard.

Our thoughts are with you.  Don't worry about bootcamp... when you are ready let me know and maybe I can give you some private tutoring Smiley

We'll all pitch in and do some tweeting for you if you like to keep views up in your store.

Take care of you and family and hugs from all of us.

Cheers

Nono.. they were new listings and new products.. but I was uploading the photos at midnight, and I had to get to bed.. couldn't keep my eyes opened long enough to write the product descriptions.  So I kep them "on hold"  I thought since they were never LIVE before, that they'd show up as a new listing, but they didn't, they showed up as UPDATED... but the product itself is new.

Hi Naturliche,
That actually sounds like a glitch.
New products should be listed as new, regardless if you've cloned them or not. We'll fix that asap. Thanks for letting us know!

Anyone notice the new drop down tags when you are doing a new listing.

So cooooool!  Are these good keywords?

Sorry to hear that Erin.  Sad

Today, I updated some more listings - titles and tags mostly.  A little in the descriptions.

I may not have new product for a few days.  So many ideas, so little time!

Hi PillowThrowDecor,

Those are the keywords that everyone has entered collectively up to this point. It has some good and some not so good keywords. We hope to clean it up over time.

This feature will allow you to link to similar products, that share same keywords. Also, it will give you ideas for new keywords, that you might  have not thought of before. It should also save you time by making product tagging faster.... and more fun.  Cheesy
I've mentioned this new feature here https://icraftgifts.com/forum/1019/addition-of-auto-complete-feature/

Well I must be deaf, dumb and half blind and with a pile of listing to do!!!
That's what I get for being lazy  by copying an old listing.

Thanks!

Erin - sorry to hear about your family's loss.

I enjoyed the clicknewz blog and signed up for the newsletter.  I did catch a spelling mistake, and pointed it out.    Hope she didn't mind....

did you want us to share three good blog ideas?
1) be consistent - for me, I have an Internet Artisan Interview every Friday (anyone interested?  I'm always taking names) and a WW

2) write your blog with the reader in mind.  I use a lot of images and links.  When I go to a blog, I like to be able to look at pictures, not just words, and link around.

3) ask a question, in your PS or body, it doesn't matter.  It helps to draw others into what you're writing.

Visit my blog and tell me what YOU think!  http://www.storybeader.com

So, here's my new item for the day:  https://icraftgifts.com/handmade/19401/yoked-pencil-skirt-in-your-size.php complete with good keyword tags!

Blogging: I'm bad and haven't done it in a week, but I know that my views are highest when I post what I call "process" pieces.  I choose a project I'm working on - especially a custom order, then I take the reader on my journey over about 3 posts.  I start with the creative design process with the customer - what they want or ideas they have.  I post photos of any sketches I made, even if the customer changed a detail later, and photos of the fabrics used.  My second piece is the construction post where I tell in general terms how the piece is made and show photos of a half finished dress or coat (whatever I'm working on).  In my last post, I only show photos of the finished project.  I usually spread these out over the course of a week to keep the reader coming back to see what's next.

Scheduled lots of tweets today for the next several days; following lots of new, QUALITY people and still catching up on the SEO stuff.  Do we get a free vacation after bootcamp?  Smiley

admin, thanks for letting me know its a glitch.

But just to make sure its clear - the new products were not cloned.
when i clone a product, it turns up new.

The issue was with a new listing, which was put "ON HOLD", then edited, and put LIVE..

I hope i'm making sense.. lol!!

Yes of course free vacation...

...at my house... y'all come on over...

Soon I hope as I need some extra pillow elves before Christmas Smiley

I have been listing like mad and flying on the sewing machines.  I had a show last week and sold off some of my inventory so need to generate some fresh stuff.  Most importantly I am launching a DIY pillow kit line Would love some help with some tweets or blogs or anything.

My shop address has 5 new listings https://icraftgifts.com/pillowthrowdecor.

I figure this would be faster to move some of the mountains of fabric that I have stockpiled this year Smiley  I am a fabric maniac!!!

Blogging... arghhhhhhh! If it were a pet it would have died of starvation two months ago.  Am in the process of moving it from blogger to Wordpress and linked to my www.pillowthrowdecor.com site which is painfully bare bones too.

None of you must feel self conscious of being internet impaired.... cause I have it big time. Being too high information I freeze until I have thoroughly rereplacemented something to adnauseum!!!

Excellent comments on blogs here.  I should have worded my question differently as I am looking for something different for answers or should I say ideas... but no worries I will re-ask in your assignment today because you have each contributed excellent information.

Cheers

Naturliche,
No worries. I'll have to check for myself how cloning works now just to make sure there are no problems. Cheers!

Erin, sending you wishes for healing and rest. Hope to see you again next camp.

Linda too, I've been meaning to post you wishes for a speedy recovery!

Naturliche, I was glad you brought that up because I was in the middle of the same situation! Last night I started adding a new listing, had to go to bed, then finished tonight. But for me it did come up as NEW when I took it off of hold and went live, so I don't know what happened to your listing.

Admin, would it be possible to have a "finish later" button for these situations? I kept trying to stop and put it on hold so I could finish it later, but it wouldn't go on hold because I hadn't downloaded a picture yet, then it wouldn't because I hadn't entered quantity, etc.

Anyway, got a new listing up-- just a little thing, but it helps with my old goal of having a wider range of prices. (And for now until the end of the year, it's just a bonus thrown in for any order)

Doing little bits of editing too, as I find the time.

I have been missing all of you and am starting to be on the mend. Bronchitis is nasty and is the second bout I have had since July.

Erin I am so sorry about your dad. We will be keeping our eyes on you to support you.

And, ZsKnees - you are sweet to mention me! I have felt like such a deadbeat during bootcamp because I have done nothing but the first 2 days. Oh well, things in life do happen.

I will be checking in more often and am itching to get my hands on that new blog feature!! I need to poke around and see what Admin has done!

Zs Knees,
Technically "on hold" button is meant for "finish later". I'll see if we can tweak it a bit to allow you saving "not finished" listings. Thanks for the suggestion!
