Interested in Private Sales?

Hello iCrafters!

The iCraft team has an idea, and would like to get everyone's feedback on it.

As a Creator, do you or have you, ever created something that was intended only for one person, and did not want to advertise to anyone else that the product was available from you? Would a "Private Sale" function on iCraft, which allows you to send a "hidden" link of a product page that normally does not show up in any replacement results, be of use to you?

This "Private Sale" product page would work just like any other product page, and allow your buyers to transact with you. It would not, however, show up on replacement results, or under your Creator Exhibit listing. It would be completely hidden from the general iCraftGifts.com community and only be visible once you forward its link onto those people you choose to share it with.

Let us know your thoughts by replying to this post, or sending a message to Feedback@iCraftGifts.com - as always, we sincerely appreciate your feedback!

I think its an idea that could have its use...for example a gift purchased for someone, the buyer may not like having that show up.  I know on other websites Im on its been an issue where buyers didnt want their purchases to show up for others to see what they buy...

I think that would be a great idea!

I agree with Decadence2 - A lot of buyers on other websites complain that some of their friends and family members go through their buyer's feedback to see what they purchase and figure out what they will receive as gifts.

As long as that private transaction doesn't show up in the buyer's "history" (or only shows as 'private transaction' with no pictures and no description and no price showing), then it could be a useful tool.

I know that you were more thinking of when we make a commissioned piece that is reserved for a specific buyer - having that private link to show the item to the person that ordered the piece would be really nice.

If, on top of that, we can have the option not to show that item in the buyer's history once they have paid for the item, I think that would be even better, so that people buying gifts can simply keep those transactions secret.

Cheers,

I think this is a really great idea. This way custom orders could still be taken through the security of icraft instead of via email.

That is a very good idea, maybe a link to request a custom order, would work for the creator page!  Cheesy

It would be a good idea as long as it wasn't abused by some vendors as a way to sell other products that they shouldn't be. Could almost act as a money laundering service that way unless I am reading this wrong.

I also think it would be a good idea. For custom orders or wholesale orders.

Yep, great idea. I often have requests for items that are similar, but not the same as items I have listed for sale. A reserved listing or something of theat nature would be ideal. I like the idea too about keeping certain purchases secret in the case of gifts etc.

I hope you are able to make this a reality for shop owners, it could be a very useful addition to the site.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!  It looks like most people really like the idea of having the Private Sale function.

iCraft Admin will be sure to follow up, and let everyone know once this feature is developed / introduced.

Stay tuned, and please - continue to leave your feedback Smiley
