Okay, so I replacemented "formal gown".  My results say that word combination gets over 100,000 hits in a month.  Some suggestions in a more hit range (less than 10,000, but more than 2,000):

formal evening gown (s)
plus size formal gown (s)
white formal gown
black formal gown

designer evening gowns
plus size formal dresses
plus size party dresses
formal evening wear

I like the tool!  Definitely gonna start using that before listing items!

One thing I've wondered in keyword usage - whether to use plurals or not.

journals   1,220,000
journal   11,100,000

sketchbooks  27,100
sketchbook  201,000

USUALLY, the singles win out over plural, except for

diaries 6,120,000
diary    3,350,000

unlined journal 2,400
blank journal  27,100
blank books   49.500
blank book 390

If I was doing a replacement, I would never say BLANK BOOKS!  That doesn't sound like proper English!

Copied my post to right place!

WOW - thanks! That was really enlightening...
Using the LOCAL replacement data:

RESULTS FOR "HANDMADE GREETING CARD"
880 results for "handmade greeting cards" which was quadruple the results for the same phrase but not plural. (Maybe I should offer more sets?)

"handmade cards" got 8100 - replacementes while the singular got just over 50% of that. So, without the word "greeting" and plural got more. Maybe the word "greeting" is kind of redundant anyway... yet...

"greeting card" without the "handmade" had 33,100 replacementes. Not good for me, though, since no discernable preference for handmade ones.

"homemade" was just as replacemented as "handmade"

"Christmas cards" were by far and away the greatest replacement - 74,000 - makes sense for October. No preference for "handmade" discernable though.

If I add up all the variants of "birthday card" replacementes, they are blown away by the number of "anniversary" card replacementes. I should make more of those!

RESULTS FOR "HANDMADE SCRAPBOOK EMBELLISHMENT"
"scrapbook embellishments" = 5,400 replacementes. Handmade ones.... zero.

"paper piecing" as two words got 8,100 replacementes. One word got 110. Paired with "handmade".... zero.

---- now off to revise my listings!

Hey everyone I am back, for now, getting ready for my biggest show of the year on Saturday and don't know how much time I will have but I did check out some keyword usage,

wire wrapped jewelry 12,100
wire wrapping 33,100 (but this does not mean its all jewelry)

handcrafted jewelry 301,000
handmade jewelry 368,000
designer jewelry 823,000

handcrafted silver jewelry 12,100

Hmm, food for thought.

It's 10:46pm and my dear girl is apparently just not going to go to sleep... I'm officially giving up trying to do anything of my choice tonight. Catch up tomorrow... (meek smile...)

I've posted a few tips on how Keyword Rereplacement could be applied on your product pages. Please have a look, as it's relevant to this assignment https://icraftgifts.com/forum/1047/writing-to-be-found/  I'll be posting on this topic more under SEO thread shortly. Thanks!

SEO keywords is so overwhelming!  I need a nice cup of white tea and some organic dark chocolate after all of that rereplacement! :?

Weezi, I think it is hilarious that roller derby came up as the major keywords for your site!

What is the difference between local and global replacement volume?

For my jewellery, I did find out that spelling makes a difference - jewellery/jewelry and all the variations thereof.  I will add "jewelry" to my website page tags.

I also found that eco-friendly jewellery didn't bring in as many results as I thought it would, so will need to also use other keywords
Just using "jewellery" or "jewelry" brings up a gazillion results.  If I narrow it down to "artisan jewellery/jewelry", that brings up not very many.
Handmade seems to be a happy medium, so I will add that to my listings and webpages.

Then of course, there are more specific keywords like rings, bracelets, silver, copper, etc..  Adding handmade seemed to nearly always bring in a good range of results.

By now my brain was turning to mush, but I did look quickly into the variations of animal portraits, pet portraits, dog portraits, pastel pet portraits, pencil dog portraits,  etc.
Pet portraits, dog portraits, horse portraits, and those with pastel included all bring in a good number of results.
I'm already using those keywords, so I'm good to go there.
Now my brain is mush, so I will look into fine art after the tea and chocolate has a chance to work its magic. :-)

I can understand brain mush!  Smiley  I need to reread all of this so I can absorb SEO detals.

Good job on the keyword replacement everyone!

Yep, the little monkey stayed up till 12:30 last night... 12 teeth down, 8 to go STILL? Did I put my mother through this?  (I know I know, just wait till she's a teenager, I'll yearn for the good ol' days when all she did was cry all night!)

Anyway, crafts...

Wow, I really think the Adwords replacementes could drive you crazy! So many combinations...

children's bedding got 74,000
childrens bedding got more: 90,500
So I'll sell more if I ignore rules of grammar? :?

Surprisingly, kids' pillows: 'not enough data'
but toddler pillows: 22,200 local / 8,100 global
and baby pillows got even more.

Another way to narrow down "pillows" seems to be adding "couch" or "sofa"

And "security" and "baby security" look like good additions to "blanket". Unfortunately, blanket and pillow set didn't turn up much: 1,600.

Baby gifts : 1,220,000
Baby boy/Baby girl gifts: 27,100
Honestly, that kind of bummed me out. I don't like boxing them in so young! Oh well.

Felted : 165,000
but Felted balls didn't turn up much at all: 720 globally
Felted baby    (ouch? haha) got a little more: 1,300

This was interesting. I'll have to revisit the keywords site when my vision gets back to normal, ha!
