Ladies Spa Night Out For Charity 7:00p.m. – 10:00p.m.

Ladies Spa Night Out for Charity will be supporting the Simcoe Hall Settlement House in Oshawa, Ontario. The Simcoe Hall Settlement House is a not-for-profit community resource center assisting less advantaged children, families and vulnerable adults whose lives are affected by poverty. It was established, in 1935, by the Women’s Welfare League in response to human and health conditions created, largely, by the Great Depression of the 1930’s. During the war years of the 1940’s, the Women’s League remained active and dedicated to aiding the lives of less advantaged families and alleviating the consequences of poverty in Oshawa and surrounding areas.

They brought the VON to Oshawa, Community Garden Projects during the great depression, Opened a branch of the of Oshawa Public Library, Introduced Big Brothers and Sisters program, After School Recreation services, First Golden Age club for Oshawa seniors, first Nursery school in Oshawa, hired speech pathologist and physiotherapists for neighborhood children, Simcoe Hall Family Budgeting Services (Credit Counselling), Eastview Boys and Girls Club, Built and opened Children’s School and Treatment Center (now called Grandview), Sun Fun Day Camp, Christmas Hampers, Durham Regions largest Food Bank.
