All the glass posted on here is created by me, Ashlea Bannerman of Blowfish Glassworks. I have been working with glass for close to 4 years now. I tend to focus mostly on pendants, marbles and sculptural work. The glass I work with these days is boro, also known as Pyrex.
The technique I use is called Lampworking. I start off with tubes and rods of glass, I then melt them using a couple torches. Once the glass is molten I manipulate it and blow it until I have reached my desired design. When I have finished creating my piece I then place it in a kiln for 4-6hrs to rid the glass of any stress while I was working it. Doing so ensures strength and durability for years to come.
