Handmade Store: Sew Many Things

I absolutely love fabric and creating beautiful items with it. I have been quilting for over 30 years and teaching for 20. Leading our local quilt guild presented me with creating, writing, and printing my own patterns. When I was growing up I wanted to be a teacher and write books. I thought those two things hadn't happened until I realized I am a teacher and I have written enough quilting instructions to have written multiple books!

I began sewing with my Mom when I was 9 years old. I remember when she bought a new electric sewing machine and had me sit down at her treadle machine so I would remember working on one. The store was giving her a $5 trade in! Well, I remember and I now have a Singer treadle of my own. I "walked" a blue Nine-Patch quilt on my Singer treadle 26 years ago. A treasure of mine is a quilt my paternal grandmother, Grace Earich Young, made in 1958. I also have her wooden quilt hoop and some of her fabric scraps.

There are so many wonderful products to choose from. The fabrics, patterns, and supplies available are exciting and inspire me to create whatever pops into my head.
