I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dr. ReGina Pino (Gina). My doctorate is in education and I spent over thirty years teaching in elementary school and community college before retiring. Just like other retirees I had to decide what I would do next. Many years ago I spent time with my grandmother learning how to crochet a chain stitch. I must have crocheted miles of that stitch but loved every moment I spent sitting with that very special woman and slowly learned how to move beyond the basics. I decided to start crocheting again until I sorted out what retirement would mean for me. The funny thing is that the more I crocheted the more I fell in love with the craft. Today, every time I pick up a crochet hook I am with my grandmother again and enjoy making special outfits, blankets, or toys for my grandchildren and family just as she did for me. In fact, I have to admit that the craft has become a passion and I have far more items than I need. I suddenly knew what I wanted to do during my retirement. Encouraged by my family, I am taking the plunge, doing what I love, crocheting, and introducing Mizi’s Boutique. We have four main categories of items and one seasonal category. They are; Cute-as-a-Button, Delectable Collectibles, Character Blankets/Cocoons, and Just-4- Fun. Our seasonal collection is Winter Chill. The Cute-as-a- Button collection contains clothing items for babies and toddlers. This collection is also suitable for Reborn or Realistic baby dolls. Delectable Collectibles are unique clothes for eighteen-inch dolls. The Character Blankets collection offers smaller blankets with snap-on characters attached. Last but not least, the Just-4-Fun collection contains a variety of items whose sole purpose is to make you smile. I hope you will enjoy the items I have to offer as much as I enjoyed making them.
