Chunky ceramic beaded Zia Sun Petroglyph bracelet created with my handmade high fire kiln pottery beads. The beads are hand-rolled, air-dried for several days, fired, then glazed a rich turquoise and fired once again. The central focus bead has been carved on both sides with the Zia Sun petroglyph.
Two black lava stone beads flank the ceramic beads along with with silver plated metal Bali beads. The slider bead is made from wood and the end ties are also of wood.
The Bracelet is adjustable to fit any wrist from 6.85" and opens up to 10-1/4". (17cm to 26cm) .
**only one bracelet exists, every creation I make is different. You will always receive what is pictured. The intensity of colour may vary from PC monitor to smartphone**
About the Zia Pueblo Sun Symbol:
"Zia" means sun, and is also the name of the symbol. Today it is the sole symbol on the flag of the State of New Mexico, but the symbol is very old- it is found on pottery, art, and other artefacts of the Zia Pueblo tribes of New Mexico. The number four is sacred to the Zia Indians, and this emblem embodies this number as the powers of nature- the sun, the four directions, seasons, and the ages of man.
