Photo sizing

I just thought I would share some photo sizing discoveries with the general seller populous.  I use a digital camera to take my product shots.  For a landscape shaped regular photo, it comes in at 3264 x 2448 pixels.  This would print to a 4 x 6 photograph or any size in that proportion.

When I crop my photos in my photo editing software, I find the following crop sizes scale down pretty close to the 860 x 694 pixel size that iCraft product listing use.  Not perfectly, but close!

Crop sizes in pixels:
3050 x 2448
3000 x 2425
2690 x 2175 (this is my favourite)
2290 x 1850 (my other favourite)

Hope that made sense and is helpful!
Cheers,
Lisa.

You're welcome! I got a better camera since posting that, which gives me a larger pixel size of photo to start with. So, I have some more sizes to share. These dimensions will also shrink down to the 860 by 694 (landscape) size iCraft uses:
  • 3985 x 3216
  • 3100 x 2500
  • 2650 x 2140
  • 2000 x 1615
  • 1850 x 1490

Also, we had a thread for photo editing software. You can read it here and share your thoughts/tips!
